Our client is a multinational organisation, based in Amsterdam, providing information services worldwide over the internet.
We are looking for a Systems and Test Engineer with a degree (or equivalent) in computing, engineering, mathematics or other science-based subject, plus a minimum of 4 years experience of software testing. Substantial experience in client/server and n-tier environments on the PC platform. Good knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 and Oracle 9/10. Knowledge of the concepts, architecture and structure of Visual Basic and C++ projects. An understanding of the concepts of COM and DCOM. An understanding of the deployment of J2EE applications, particularly on Oracle Application Server. An understanding of RDBMS design methodologies, including a sound understanding of SQL queries. An understanding of the concepts and usage of XML. Knowledge of the full project life cycle and principles of the V-model.
Good communication skills, good command of verbal and written English. Ability to take initiative and assume ownership of issues in order to resolve conflicts and meet deadlines. Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team. Accuracy and attention to detail. Able to interface between customer (end user) and development team.
